ENERGY
The energy at the Sphinx is one of awe and wonder. The Sphinx's immense size and beauty inspire a sense of humility, especially when standing between its massive paws. It is appropriate that we journey to the Sphinx first. It’s arguably the oldest Egyptian structure. Some Egyptologists and geologists recognize it as much older than the pyramid complex.

Visualize the Sphinx as a mystical entity whispering the secrets of the universe to all those who stand before her. Royals and seekers were brought here to listen to the Sphinx share her wisdom. Notice the enduring spiritual significance and mystery the Sphinx holds for those who seek wisdom.

Today, it's our turn to meet the guardian of the Giza plateau to dive into the hidden mysteries under the light of the full moon.

ENERGY
The energy here vibrates with discovery. Sakkara is part of the necropolis of the ancient Egyptian city of Memphis and offers a remarkable journey into Egypt's rich history. This expansive archaeological site stretches for about five miles, resembling an energetic patchwork quilt of historical structures.

Central to Sakkara's significance is the Step Pyramid of Zoser, designed around 2630 B.C. by Imhotep, the brilliant architect of King Djoser during Dynasty III. The Step Pyramid, with its six tiers atop a mastaba, stands as the world's oldest free-standing pyramid. Imagine standing before this ancient marvel and envisioning the life and achievements of the visionary architect, Imhotep.

Imhotep's remarkable journey from a commoner to the highest official serving the pharaoh is a testament to his genius-level intellect. He wore multiple hats as an architect, sage, astrologer, and physician, earning him the title of the "First Physician." Imhotep's legacy extends beyond his time, as he became the patron saint of later scribes.

The energy today in Aswan is joyful. After the flight from Cairo, we greet the Nile and board your dahabiya. The Nile River was always the lifeblood of Egypt – and remains so today. It is the longest river in the world flowing for 4,100 miles before terminating in the Mediterranean Sea.

The best way to see the Nile is by a Nile River cruise. It reorients the mind and soothes the soul.
Each wave lapping against the boat comes with a message:

DAY 4 - SUNDAY, OCT 1 - Elephantine Island, Temple of Khnum, Aswan Nubian marketplace

Welcome to the Temple of Khnum

ENERGY
Today we take a felucca out to visit the Temple of Khnum. The ancient temple is located on Elephantine Island. It's called this because it looks like a little herd of elephants all standing together. We love this!

In the ancient days, inhabitants believed the island to be inhabited by Khnum - one of the most ancient Egyptian neters. Khnum was originally a water god. He was associated with guarding and controlling the waters of the Nile to create black fertile silt for clay.

The energy of this day delves into the history and significance of Khnum, the deity associated with water, pottery, and creation. Khnum means “to create.” Have you ever sat at a potter’s wheel? Have you felt the wet clay oozing between your fingers as you added water to assist in its slow smooth movement upwards? Have you felt the sheer delight of sculpting a desired form?

Accept the invitation to join Khnum in creation. According to myth, Khnum molded everything on his potter’s wheel, including both people and other gods. He works with the foundation principle of order and structure in his creations. Be aware of the energy of de-creation that precedes creation. As you learn from Khnum, take note of the "blessing of health" he bestows on each creation.

ENERGY
The energy today invites us to look at duality as we explore the Temple of Kom Ombo and the dual deities Sobek and Horus. Accept the invitation from this pair for growth, maturity, balance, and the reconciliation of opposites.

Sobek and Horus personify opposites. Theirs is a battle between ego and spirit. They are constantly in duality. Horus matured through his journey, as we all do in life. He gained understanding and compassion (even with respect to his Uncle Seth who killed his father). Horus offers you the energy to understand the purpose of your adversarial relationships and the evolution that ensues.

ENERGY

Write down a question on a piece of paper and then allow your mind and body to be guided into writing down the answer. This process can teach you so much about yourself and the world. It allows you to tap into your unconscious as well as receive messages from your Soul and Spirit.

To enter a dream or meditation can take any form - even automatic writing. The first time Julianne and John met was at a store called the Spirit of Angels for an evening of automatic writing. • Step 1: Pray… for the truth and the gift of spiritual hearing.

• Step 2: Breathe… be of serene nature.

• Step 6: Inner Knowing… it just comes.

Welcome to Edfu and the Temple of Horus

ENERGY
The energy of today is focused on the falcon-headed god, Horus, and the Temple of Edfu. It sits on the spot believed to be the location of the battle between the god Horus and his evil uncle Seth. The ancient Egyptians saw their battle as an eternal struggle between good and evil.

Accept the invitation at Edfu to notice where in life you are facing an inner or outer struggle.

Notice the impact of this struggle. Are you ready to step beyond it? Allow Horus' victory to inspire new insights into your own situation.

Horus is a complex deity also associated with the 3rd eye. The mystical symbol of the Eye of Horus is often associated with inner sight and intuition. Horus lost his left eye in a struggle with his uncle Seth, and the eye was magically restored by Hathor. Horus has the role of being a symbol of restoration, balance, healing, and personal power.

DREAMING
The walls of the Temple of Edfu are decorated with scenes showing the divine birth of Horus in the “House of Divine Birth.” The idea of the “Divine Son’ in Christianity, embodied by Jesus Christ, can be seen as bearing resemblance to the story of Horus. Both of these figures served as agents of divine intervention and restoration of order. Horus wasn’t just the guardian of pharaohs but also of the common people. His reach extended to all levels of society, providing protection to those in need.

DREAMING
Enter into a dream or meditation to ponder the power of sacred places and spaces. When you step into the temple of a god or goddess, it is said that you enter the body of the god or goddess. What would it be like to have this awareness as you meditate back to the temples? What is your experience of being inside the body of the divine; whether for you that is a temple, a church, a mosque, or simply being in nature?

The Holy of Holies was always the first room built in ancient Egyptian temples, and it housed the statue of the deity for which the temple was being built. This room represents the inner sanctum of the human being, the heart, the most sacred dwelling place of Love, Light, and Presence. It's where an individual retreats to when they want to pray and commune with God.

What is your experience of entering the secret chamber of your heart? As you travel deeper and deeper into the inner recesses of your being, visualize yourself entering the secret chamber of your heart. Visualize yourself walking into this chamber as you would enter a grand temple, a mighty cathedral, a beautiful synagogue or mosque, or even a cave or wooded glen.

As you continue to meditate on the secret chamber of your heart, begin to feel the inner stillness of perfect Love. This is an inner experience, as though you're all alone in the cosmos with your God. You are inside your God, and your God is inside of you.

ENERGY
Today's energy is deeply connected to Abydos's sacredness and mystical qualities, particularly its association with Osiris and the Djed Pillar. Abydos is portrayed as a place of profound significance in Egyptian spirituality, where

Osiris, the god of rebirth and regeneration, is central. The Djed Pillar

symbolizes stability, resurrection, and the axis of the world, representing a powerful spiritual concept.

In Abydos, we find the "Flower of Life" pattern, meticulously carved with laserlike accuracy on a huge, granite block in the temple. The Flower of Life is the pattern for all creation and all physicality manifests through this pattern. It leaves us wondering how ancient civilizations possessed such profound knowledge.

DREAMING
Enter into a dream or meditation and connect with the energy of Osiris and the Djed Pillar with an awareness of the energy of rebirth.

• Use a meditation of your choice to activate each of the chakras along the spine from the root to the crown. This allows the kundalini (Sekhem) to move up to higher brain centers such as the pineal gland. “Raising the Djed” re-polarizes and realigns the chakra system. (If you have malachite, it will support your meditation in clearing your chakras.)

• Travel up the ladder of consciousness. Have the intention that you are a cosmic axis, bridging Heaven and Earth and accessing higher dimensions of consciousness.

Welcome to Dendera and the Temple of Hathor

ENERGY
The energy here is conditioned by the Temple of Hathor in Dendera, and the goddess Hathor herself. Accept the invitation of Hathor and receive from this multifaceted deity the energies of love, sensuality, beauty, music, dance, celebration, motherhood, and joy.

Her temple complex at Dendera includes a sanitarium for healing where pilgrims sought the goddess's curative power to make some aspect of their lives whole and holy. Sacred waters were dispensed for cleansing, medicines were administered, and sleeping chambers were provided for dream-guided healing. Her dream chambers await!

DREAMING
Enter into a dream or meditation and connect with Hathor's energy and teachings. Your ally emanates love and grace. Her function is the union of opposites to create the magic of Higher Love. She brings you to the next level of the relationship that we experienced with Sobek and Horus.

• Allow yourself to be supported by Hathor’s fierce grace and instantaneously drop any drama. Release your judgments of self and others into the hands of the goddess and the arms of mother.

As you walk through the temple of Luxor, you are indeed walking through an energetic representation of human anatomy and the chakra system. This is a very sacred temple, with a very sacred purpose. In the metaphysical, Luxor is the home of an etheric temple.

Understanding the spiritual significance of Luxor can open inner portals of power within you. The Ascended Master that governs the etheric temple above the physical temple of Luxor is Ascended Master Serapis Bey. It is said that he resides in the etheric temple with Seraphim (fire angels), Archangels Gabriel and Hope.

Serapis Bey is the “Ascended Self” of Pharoh Amenhotep III, the pharaoh who built the Luxor Temple. He is the father of Akhenaten and Grandfather of Tutankhamun.

ENERGY
The energy here today is of a divine intelligence. The Great Pyramid of Khufu is the largest pyramid in Egypt and served as a pattern for the others. It was not built for a Tomb, its construction embodies a wonderful knowledge of mathematics, astronomy, and Scriptural information and shows clearly that the Architect and Builder were specially endowed with divine wisdom.

At the spiritual level, the pyramid is a symbol of the integration of self – and soul. In dreams, the pyramid can stand for death, although it contains rebirth. The base of the pyramid stands for the body, the sides show the spiritual attempts, and the point symbolizes the harmonious union of the human with the divine.

The pyramids of Giza hold real significance in this great spiritual quest. Firstly, there’s a significance in the 3-sides of the triangle referring to the three aspects of God: God the creator, God the preserver, and God the transformer. This also can be seen as an analogy for the seeker’s journey. There is a starting point (which represents birth in the matter of creation), then there’s the long journey of evolution and inner discovery, finally ending in the seeker’s realization of his true identity.

The primary purpose of the great pyramids was a place of spiritual initiation. It was within the sacred confines of the great pyramids where initiates would undergo a process of attaining illumination. ENERGY
The energy today offers reverence, history, and continuity in the face of religious and cultural changes over time. St. Sergius and Bacchus Church (also known as Abu Serga) was built upon an ancient Roman fort in Old Cairo. It’s named after 4th-century AD saints. Sergius and Bacchus, both of whom were martyred for their Christian beliefs. The church is believed to have been built on the spot where the Holy family rested at the end of their journey into Egypt.

One of its most interesting features is the crypt or cave beneath the church where Mary, Joseph, and the infant Jesus are said to have stayed and rested while hiding from King Herod. Their flight into Egypt is traced back to the Gospel of Matthew in the Bible.

There is a long tradition of commemorating sites associated with the holy family in Egypt. The Coptic Christian communities have ensured their preservation. “Coptic” means “Egyptian.” Interestingly, the Coptic language, used in Coptic services, is the last spoken version of the language of the pyramid builders.
